FAQs

General FAQs:

Q: How long will my parcel take to get to me?

A: We aim to process and dispatch all online orders within 1 business day.  All parcels are sent Express Parcel Post (Domestic or International) via Australia Post services.  The following estimates are an aggregate of processing and delivery times, and based on deliveries within worldwide metropolitan areas.  Rural and remote localities can expect to incur more protracted transit times:

  • Australian Residents should typically allow from 1-3 business days from time of placing order.
  • Non-Australian Residents should typically allow from 4-9 business days from time of placing order.

NOTE: All Express Parcels include active tracking, allowing progressive monitoring of transit from both ends.

Q: What if my order doesn’t show up?

A: If for any reason, tracking indicates that your order is neither delivered nor detectable, and NOT due to a customs seizure as specified within our Refund Policy, we will provide full replacement of your order at absolutely no further cost to you, whatsoever!

Q: Do jinki baby carriers come with a guarantee?

A: Yes!  All jinki baby carriers come with a 12 month guarantee from time of purchase against all defective materials and/or manufacturing defects. If for any reason you should encounter a manufacturing or materials defect with your jinki baby carrier within 12 months, you can reach out to us at support@jinki.com whereby you’ll be given specific instructions for the safe return and ensured replacement or refund of your product purchase.  See Refund Policy

NOTE: For our jinki product guarantee to remain effective, it is essential to wait and act on our instructions for Returns.  Returns that are sent back to us without adherence to our instructions may risk rendering the jinki guarantee void!

Q: Is there a physical address for returns?

A: Yes!  A physical address for Returns will be issued to you when you reach out to us via support@jinki.com

Q: How long can I expect my jinki baby carrier to last?

A: Your jinki baby carrier has been designed and manufactured for maximized strength and durability, and should accordingly give you years of dependable use, however, it should be kept in mind that all natural fabric fibres are prone to natural deterioration processes over extended time.  For this reason, we do not advised to use your jinki baby carrier as a distant pass-me-down which has been subject to years of prior usage.

Q: Cotton vs Bamboo; which is the better choice?

A: Bamboo: The Pros:

  • Pure bamboo is often compared to silk and even cashmere due to its luxuriously soft texture. There is simply no comparison to the feel of bamboo fabric against a baby’s skin.
  • Bamboo fibre has a higher degree of breathability than cotton, and is therefore more efficient at wicking moisture away from the skin, allowing for moisture to evaporate into the air more rapidly, so when baby sweats, baby remains dry.
  • Bamboo is three times as absorbent as cotton, and able to hold up to 300 times its weight in moisture.
  • Bamboo fibre has superior antimicrobial properties referred to as ‘Bamboo Kun’, and is more bacterially resistant than cotton. Bamboo’s natural antimicrobial bio-agents help reduce the incidence of bacteria that thrive on clothing, and human skin.
  • Bamboo will outlast cotton in holding form, retaining strength and resilience, by as much as three times over, when properly cared for.
  • Bamboo fabric is super light while maintaining a notably higher tensile strength than its equivalent gsm (gram/square metre) in cotton.
  • Bamboo is more stain resistant than cotton and therefore requires less washing, a factor that can contribute to the extended life of the fabric.
  • Bamboo is less heat retentive than cotton, allowing for faster thermal release, and accordingly better suited to warmer climatic conditions.
  • Bamboo is a more environmentally sustainable fibre than cotton. An acre of bamboo will typically yield around 10 times more than an acre of cotton, and uses less water to produce.

Bamboo: The Cons:

  • Bamboo fabric tends to shrink at a faster rate than cotton.
  • Bamboo is more prone to wrinkling and pilling (pilling refers to those little fibre balls that commonly form on clothes).
  • Bamboo is less heat retentive than cotton, so is not quite as ideal as cotton for use in colder climatic conditions.

Cotton: The Pros:

  • Cotton fabric used in the manufacture of jinki Baby Carriers remains relatively soft due to its high thread count.
  • Cotton is more wrinkle and pilling resistant than Bamboo.
  • Cotton is more shrink resistant than Bamboo.
  • Cotton fabric used in the manufacture of jinki Baby Carriers rates at 235gsm weight, to ensure adequate strength and durability.
  • Cotton fabric is more thermally insulating than bamboo, so is more suitable for retaining warmth in colder climatic conditions.
  • Cotton is also more affordable than bamboo, which can often help tip the scales in its favour.

Cotton: The Cons:

  • Cotton is not as soft as bamboo.
  • Cotton is not as absorbent as bamboo.
  • Cotton is not as antimicrobial/antibacterial as bamboo.
  • Cotton is not as hypoallergenic as bamboo.
  • Cotton is not as stain resistant as bamboo.
  • Cotton is somewhat more heat retentive than bamboo, so is not quite as ideal as bamboo for use in warmer climatic conditions.

Q: Why purchase a jinki Baby Carrier with Hip Seat?

A:

  • Parental Comfort: Our jinki Baby Carrier with Hip Seat is an engineering feat of weight distribution dynamics, purposefully designed to greatly reduce the load off your shoulders and back.  jinki’s integrated Hip Seat redistributes as much as 70% or more of your child’s body weight to your hips and waist, via a comfortable, 14cm-wide, thickly padded waist band.  The result is a massive reduction in parental back strain so typically associated with the prolonged use of harness-only style baby carriers.
  • Parental Freedom: With a busy life, comes the need for a hands-free infant transport system.  jinki facilitates multiple options for your personal freedom via 4 distinct modes of utility. Do more of the things you used to do, go anywhere, with our omnidirectional, multi-mode, effortless transport system.

Q: What is meant by “full carrier”?

A: The full carrier is comprised of integrated harness and hip seat components.  These two components zip and buckle together to form one strongly integrated unit for maximized weight distribution and utility, and are as readily separable for use of the independent components.

Q: What is the full carrier typically used for?

A: The full jinki baby carrier is typically used for long-distance endurance, where the comfort of both adult and child become of paramount importance.  In this mode, jinki’s weight distribution dynamics makes the transporting of your child seem effortless.  Gone are the days of sore backs, so typically associated with harness-only style baby carriers.

Q: What is the harness typically used for?

A: The harness component of the jinki baby carrier is typically used for short distance durations in warmer conditions requiring maximum ventilation/cooling of your child.  Additionally, the harness-only option allows for freer leg movement of your child.  During times of pregnancy, the harness-only style of transport may become necessary where the hip seat component may not be able to be fastened due to a mother’s abdominal size.

Q: What is the hip seat component typically used for?

A: The Hip Seat component of the jinki Baby Carrier provides a supportive platform ideal for breast feeding of infants.  It can also serve as a secure seat for growing children, where it will necessarily require adult assistance to provide adequate support of the child.

Q: What is the sling typically used for?

A: The sling provides a comfortable and intimate hammock-style of breast feeding support, where the harness component is used on a single shoulder of the parent. The sling can also be used to facilitate hands-free support and carriage of your baby.

Q: Are jinki baby carriers washable?

A: Yes, jinki Baby Carriers are designed to be readily washable.  We strongly recommend hand washing of your jinki Baby Carrier to maximise preservation of the quality natural fabrics.  Using a gentle, pure soap is highly recommended.  The EPP hip seat base should be removed prior to washing and is readily accessible and replaceable via its own zippered compartment.

Q: How often should I wash my jinki?

A: Regular washing of your jinki Baby Carrier will ensure constant hygiene for your child.

Q: Do jinki Baby Carriers contain any synthetic materials?

A: Yes, some polyester is essentially used in our jinki Baby Carrier with Hip Seat for essential health and safety reasons as set out below:

  • Straps: While it would seem ideal to construct our baby carriers from all natural, organic fabrics, jinki use 100% polyester strapping in all fastenable straps and belts. This is the same material motor vehicle seatbelts are manufactured from and ensures maximum strength to constantly ensure ultimate protection of your child and in order to meet stringent CPC (Child Product Certificate) safety certification standards.
  • Vent: Polyester 3D mesh is used for our principal air vent to ensure adequate and essential air flow for your child's safety and wellbeing.
  • Liners: Minimal polyester is used as a wear reduction lining to high friction areas that typically rub against clothing. It is also chosen for its resistance to acid in areas prone to high sweat and uric acid accumulation, where it mimics natural fabrics in maintaining a high degree of breathability, and facilitation of temperature regulation. 100% natural fabrics are used in areas in direct or sustained contact with human skin.
  • Stitching: 100% polyester thread is used for all major structural stitching throughout the carrier, due to its superior tensile strength, and due to it's unbeatable resilience to decomposition processes which all natural fabrics are prone to over time.  This also ensures maximum strength necessary to meet international CPC safety testing criteria, and ensures ultimate protection of your most precious cargo.
